This is Lisa. She ran her first mini-marathon on April 26 through the cold and rain in honor of a friend and coworker who was diagnosed last year with colon cancer. She also raised $1,400 in honor of him.
Lisa had trained since January and had run as much as 10 miles at a time. She said those last 13 miles of the 13.1-mile race were the hardest. The rain started pouring, she had already thrown out the trash bag that had been protecting her from the weather, and she was worn out.
But thinking about her friend Rodney kept her going, she said.
Thank you, Lisa, and all your supporters! You are saving lives!
