The Browning Award: Empowering Change in Early Onset Colorectal Cancer Awareness
Introduction
As colorectal cancer (CRC) remains a significant health concern, our scholarship aims to catalyze positive change in the fight against this formidable adversary. By the year 2030, Early Age Onset Colorectal Cancer is expected to be the number one cancer killer in individuals under age 50. To help spread awareness about this pressing issue in efforts to prevent CRC, we introduce The Browning Award. This scholarship is a call to action for passionate students who are committed to learning about and spreading crucial information about early onset colorectal cancer. By participating, you join a movement dedicated to saving lives through awareness.
The 2024 award will be a $1000 scholarship, disbursed in December for the 2025 academic year.
How to Participate
Your initiative could take various forms, from social media posts to works of art, all contributing to the overarching goal of spreading awareness and initiating change. All you need to do is learn about early onset CRC and prepare assets to raise awareness, such as social media posts, graphic arts, or articles. These are just a few examples, and we encourage your creativity and originality.
Apply
To apply for the scholarship, submit a description of your initiative and its impact to mistyronau@kickingbutt.org, and provide pictures or links to the content. The review committee values thoughtful, well researched submissions. A rubric is available to offer guidance. We look forward to reviewing your submissions.
We believe in the power of individuals to make a difference. Join us in the fight against early onset colorectal cancer deaths, and together, let’s create a world where timely awareness is the key to preventing unnecessary loss!
