MEET MARCH VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH, TED MOSO

Ted picWe are super excited to recognize our March Volunteer of Month, Ted Moso, who is #kickingbutt in many ways! Ted is involved in a lot of the work we do, but particularly, he helps us solve IT issues and we are very grateful! Learn more about Ted below, including what his guilty pleasure is!

*How did you get involved with The Project?

Answer: It began when I was looking for a place to start on my career on Information Technology (IT). That’s when my cousin came up to me and told me a very good place to start my journey, and it was working as a volunteer for the Colon Cancer Prevention Project in general IT. I thought to myself that this would be great because I have always wanted to use my skills for a better cause. And what better way to contribute than to a cause that saves lives?

*What is most meaningful to you as a volunteer for the Project?

Answer: Knowing that I am part of something bigger than myself.

*Why the Louisville area?

Answer: Louisville is where I grew up. I spent most of my childhood here, and made the most friends. It’s my home.

*What is your favorite restaurant in Louisville?

Answer: My favorite restaurant is and always will be, Jimmy Johns.

*What is one interesting fact about you that most people don’t know?

Answer: I can play multiple instruments including, vocals. But when I sing I do it mostly in the shower.

*What is your motto you live by?

Answer: “Never give up.”

*What is some advice you were given long ago and still live by?

Answer:

  • When there is a good opportunity presented in front of you, make sure you have a very good reason to decline it.
  • Don’t judge the book by its cover.
  • If you love the person, you give and don’t expect anything back.

*What is your guilty pleasure? (Yes, we mean the one you are slightly embarrassed to admit.)

Answer:I tell people that I listen to mostly male musician artists, but the truth is I listen to mostly female artists, especially, female country artists such as: RaeLynn, Maddie & Tae, and Kelsea Ballerini.

*If you could go anywhere in the world right now, where would you go and why?

Answer: San Luis Potosi, Mexico. The reason is that, there is a cave there called Cave of Swallows that is known to have the largest cave shaft in the world. It is said it is deep enough to engulf the Empire State Building. I want to skydive in it.

*If you could trade places with anyone in the world (dead or alive) for a month, who would choose and why?

Answer: Neil Armstrong because one of the things I want to experience before I die is to go to outer space and at least look at Earth from out there.
