Colon Cancer Survivor, Eric Gilliland, to Play 100 Holes of Golf for Prevention and Awareness

Eric Gilliland, Golf Pro for Audubon Country Club and early-onset Colon Cancer Survivor, plans to participate in the PGA Golf Day where he will play 100 holes of golf to benefit the Colon Cancer Prevention Project.

“Since my diagnosis I’ve developed a heightened sense of responsibility to make a difference. I was stunned at how many people enthusiastically got behind my teams efforts to support the Colon Cancer Prevention Project,” said Eric Gilliland.  “I believe each year we have done a better job of raising awareness and funds to combat this largely preventable disease. Our hope is that July 16th will be our best year to date.”

Eric was diagnosed with colon cancer when he was 35 years old after exhibiting multiple symptoms. In the 10 years since his diagnosis, Eric has become a dedicated volunteer and fundraiser for the Colon Cancer Prevention Project. In addition to the PGA Golf Day, Eric is also involved in planning the Colon One Golf Scramble.

This event helps support the Colon Cancer Prevention Project’s mission of eliminating preventable colon cancer death and suffering by making sure people get timely screenings.

The 100 Holes of Golf Event will take place on July 16, 2017 at Audubon Country Club in Louisville, KY.

Dear Friends,

For the fourth consecutive year, I will be playing 100 holes to support charities to which I have a very personal connection – The Colon Cancer Prevention Project and the PGA Reach initiatives of the Kentucky Golf Foundation. I will again be joined by close friend and PGA Assistant Professional, Chris Wilson along with day long caddies, Conner & Libby Gilliland.

I have pledged $100 and hope you will consider supporting this effort. Your pledge of any amount will help us toward our ambitious goal of $20,000 for these worthy organizations.

Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support our fundraising efforts. You will receive a receipt immediately upon making your contribution that is tax deductible.

We encourage you come out and visit us during the day or to follow us on Twitter at @golfshoperic or on Facebooklive on the Colon Cancer Prevention Project page.

Many thanks for your support – and do not forget to forward this to anyone you think might want to donate as well!

Respectfully,

Eric Gilliland & Chris Wilson

Thanks for all that you do to kick colorectal cancer’s butt, Eric! And for the rest of you, we hope you’ll consider donating to Eric’s page or coming out to support him if you’re in the Louisville area!
