Your Call Will Save Lives

Fellow Kentuckians,

We need your help now more than ever!

Did you know that Kentucky has the highest incidence of colorectal cancer and early age onset colorectal cancer in the nation? Thanks to the efforts of many — including State Senators Dr. Ralph Alvarado and Louisville’s own Julie Raque Adams — we’re trying to do something about it.

Two pieces of legislation have been introduced for the 2019 session that, if passed, will help catch this killer ON TIME and allow the uninsured and underinsured to receive lifesaving screenings. Our legislators will be back in session this week.

The first, Senate Bill 66, sponsored by Senator Adams, will provide for a colon cancer prevention license plate, the funds from which will go toward the Kentucky Colon Cancer Screening Program.

Secondly, Senate Bill 30, sponsored by Senator Dr. Alvarado, would require health benefit plans to cover recommended genetic testing for cancer risk.

We are asking you to reach out to your State Senator and let him or her know that you are in favor of both Senate Bill 66 and Senate Bill 30! Also, ask them to consider co-sponsoring both pieces of legislation.

This call or email will take less than five minutes. Our legislators are back in session this week, so the time to call is now!

If you don’t know who your state senator is, follow this link to find out! Let your voice be heard!

Thank you in advance for this important phone call or email. Your time and advocacy are so valuable in the fight to prevent colon cancer.

Sincerely,
Your friends at the Colon Cancer Prevention Project

P.S. If you currently don’t live in Kentucky, please forward this to your friends and family who do!
