Amidst the whirlwind of his busy personal and professional life, Jack found solace in golf. Weekends became his sanctuary, whether he was teeing off at the golf course or indulging in marathon sessions of watching tournaments from the comfort of his couch. While his handicap never hit rock bottom, Jack was constantly engrossed in online tutorials, forever chasing that elusive swing improvement.
In 2021, Jack’s world was turned upside down with a diagnosis of late stage Colon Cancer. As he battled through the relentless challenges posed by the disease, his beloved pastimes took a backseat. Through even the toughest moments, Jack’s determination to return to the greens never wavered, and he often found himself back on the golf course during his final months.
Throughout his battle, Jack harbored a desire to make a meaningful contribution to Colon Cancer research and early detection. In the end, he found his answer in partnering with the Colon Cancer Prevention Project to produce The Jack Nicholson Colon One, annual golf scramble, rallying his family and friends to carry on the fight in his absence. Established in 2024, The Jack Nicholson Colon One is the only regional Island Themed scramble. Though Jack may no longer be among us, his spirit and legacy live on through this cherished event, a testament to his unwavering passion for golf, his love for friends and family, and his enduring commitment to the cause.
