November 2015 Volunteer of the Month, Ham Rara

We are very excited to announce our November Volunteer of the Month, Ham Rara! Ham has helped provide a great deal of IT/network-related assistance, and we are very grateful! Learn more about Ham below, including what his guilty pleasure is!

*How did you get involved with The Project?

“Back in my UofL days, I worked in an image processing lab that dealt with colon cancer detection research. I happen to be fortunate enough to find this organization here in Louisville that pushes early colon cancer detection, a cause that I believe in.”

*Why Louisville?

“Being an immigrant, Louisville has provided me a lot of opportunities. It is the Possibility City!”

*What is your favorite restaurant in Louisville?

“Genghis Grill is an all-time favorite. Nothing beats building your own bowl!”

*What is one interesting fact about you that most people don’t know?

“I love to cook gourmet meals for my family.”

*What is your motto you live by?

“‘That which does not kill us, makes us stronger.’ — Friedrich Nietzsche”

*What is some advice you were given long ago and still live by?

“You can make a difference – my parents instilled this in me since childhood.”

*What is your guilty pleasure? (Yes, we mean the one you are slightly embarrassed to admit.)

Chocolates and ice cream. I am all about eating healthy but I have to give in every now and then.

*If you could go anywhere in the world right now, where would you go and why?

“I want to go to Japan, taste authentic Japanese food, and give in to my son’s desire to see a real ninja!”

*If you could trade places with anyone in the world (dead or alive) for a month, who would choose and why?

“I’d like to be in the shoes of Elon Musk right now so I can be at the forefront of private space travel and electric cars.”

Thanks for everything you do for the Project, Ham! We feel grateful to have you involved!
